Whatsapp has finally come up with it's very new and much anticipated feature which will allow users to delete messages shortly after being sent.

It was a long awaited update which was earlier known to be termed  as "revoke" or "recall" feature. But finally Facebook owned WhatsApp has launched this feature in the name of "delete for everyone" .

This feature will allow the user to unsend the message just after being sent but it has to be done in a short time window of 7 minutes. Sender can unsend any of the messages whether it being text, audio, video or graphics.

Now the user will no longer have to feel embarrassed over the wrong text being sent..whether you write a wrong text or post your text in a wrong conversation. Even the bad texters can take a sigh of relief by this feature.

WhatsApp is gradually sending out this update to all the operating platforms such as iOS, Android and Windows, but it will be a beta update available to a select users at first and finally the fully tested update will be sent out to all it's users.

This feature will be different from the common delete feature where users deletes the sent message . In this "delete for everyone feature' the sender can delete the message from his chat and the recipient's chat too but again this has to be done in a short time frame.

How will this feature work?

Just after user decides to unsend the message he will click the message and choose the option " delete for everyone". But once the time frame of unsending which is of 7 minutes is crossed ,the sender will no longer be able to take the message back. Check this pic:

This feature might be a blessing for the clumsy texters but it has it's downside too i.e. once the message is deleted by the user then that message will be replaced by a different message in the chat history as " This message was deleted"

One more thing to notice in this latest WhatsApp feature is that this feature will work only if both the sender and recipient are on the same version of WhatsApp.

Another point to notice is that this feature will not work with the Symbian OS.

I was expecting that this feature will let the user wipe off the message from the chat directory but it is not the case.

Let's wait and see when WhatsApp gives the tested update to it's user.
