In a much delayed effort, the apex court of India has come forward by constituiting a three judge bench committee to control the menace of the Blue Whale game challenge which is costing youth lives worldwide. Supreme Court has asked the Centre that in no way the teens playing this game should die.

The Supreme Court hearing a PIL has asked Doordarshan channel to make a 10 minute audio visual programme which should contain all the informations and perils by playing the Blue Whale game challenge. This programme should be made under the guidance if Ministry of Women and Child development and HRD Ministry. This programme should also counter the suicidal tendencies developed in the teens by playing this game.

This audio visual programme should be aired on all national channels irrespective of being public and private.

SC might have come up with this solution but the question is-

Will this solution of airing a 10 minute programme enough to counter this menace?. I don't hope so. The reason being-

This game is played by teens inside closed doors and their parents don't have the slightest clue about it. On the other hand parents and police are still not able to find out what causes the suicidal tendencies in teens playing this game.

So, SC must totally scrap this Blue Whale challenge of the internet such that no one can have access to this suicidal game.

One more thing that can be done is that the state governments in collaboration with NGOs should start awareness campaigns in all the schools and colleges.

Centre should also ask all the social media platforms like Facebook ,Twitter etc. to remove all the links related to this game.

With all the system in action the major responsibilities lies with the parents as they should help their children understand about the evil affects of this game and make them less vunerable. The parents should keep a check on the internet activities of their children and filter out all such suicidal games.

There are many such games like Subway Surfing, thumb breaker challenge etc which children play out of curiosity or peer pressure but they should be made aware of the harmful activities of such games.
